    McDermott added that this venture serves a dual purpose. It is about great storytelling, but more importantly, it provides a platform for creators and authors worldwide to see what new possibilities exist with advanced AI tools.

    The resulting 13-hour audiobook release was unveiled on the company’s ElevenReader platform today. The production quality goes beyond Caine’s cloned voice; it features a supporting cast of twenty different AI voices, complete with original AI-generated sound effects and a bespoke musical score.

    Naturally, this development sparks conversation about the future of media and celebrity. As audiobook narrator Edoardo Ballerini noted, there is an important consideration surrounding synthetic celebrity voices: “The slippery slope of synthetic celebrity voices is, of course, that publishers will simply license those voices for more and more projects, resulting in fewer possibilities for everyone else.”
