This western-inflected drama delves into the complex relationship between a father and his son who have been separated by two decades. It is a film rich with emotional depth, which was recently recognized for its artistic merit, having won a Silver Alexander Special Jury Prize at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in 2020.
The success of Digger has not marked a pause for the filmmaker; rather, it has fueled a return to the cinematic heart of Greece. Grigorakis recently returned to Thessaloniki, where he embarked on an exciting new project: shooting a hybrid documentary focusing on the film festival itself.
This documentary is set to feature notable collaborators, including actors Christos Passalis and Konstantina Messini, adding another layer of artistic texture to the narrative.
Grigorakis’ creative momentum is impressive, as he continues to shape his cinematic landscape. Beyond his acclaimed feature work, he is currently developing an ambitious series alongside Ken Loach’s Sixteen Films.
