Arrow Video, a trusted name in home video distribution, is embarking on an exciting new chapter by launching a subsidiary label dedicated to the charm of physical media: Toy Robot Video. This new venture signals a strategic move to cater to a growing audience eager to reconnect with classic and niche film titles through tangible formats.
The goal of Toy Robot Video is ambitious: to recreate the delightful experience of browsing titles in a local video store. This isn’t just about distributing movies; it’s about curating an experience, offering fabulous new cover artwork, meticulously transferred film masters, colorfully-branded extras like OBI-Strips and art cards, all packaged at allowance-friendly prices so fans can enjoy the cinematic treasures without breaking the bank.
Mike Hewitt, commenting on the launch, emphasized the label’s inclusive philosophy. “We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new home entertainment video label across the US, Canada and the UK,” Hewitt stated. “With a resurgent interest in physical media, especially amongst younger film fans, Toy Robot Video is intended to be a fun and inclusive label, designed to complement our core Arrow Video brand, spreading the joy of physical media ownership outside of the boundaries of cult fans and cineastes.”
Hewitt further detailed the exciting content planned for the new label, highlighting its commitment to a broad spectrum of entertainment. The slate promises an expansive variety of mainstream titles across numerous genres, with a particular focus on comedy and animation.
