This exciting project is helmed by director Georgia Oakley, bringing her vision to life through a script adapted by Diana Reid. The production is backed by industry heavyweights Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films, joined by producers India Flint and Jo Wallett.
The novel itself holds a legendary place in literature, first published in 1811 by a Lady. It remains one of Austen’s masterpieces, alongside classics such as Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Persuasion. The story follows the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, as they navigate profound emotional challenges while forced to leave their family estate in Sussex.
The film promises a fresh interpretation of this iconic narrative, focusing on the universal themes of sisterhood and romantic uncertainty that have captivated readers for centuries.
