For fans of the feline-based saga, Thundercats evokes a rich history stretching back to the late 1980s. The original Rankin-Bass series introduced viewers to a group of humanoid cats who faced epic peril after their home planet, Thundera, was destroyed. Their quest to survive and thwart the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra who sought to eliminate them remains a timeless story ripe for cinematic reimagining.
Beyond the jungle adventures, the studio is also preparing vibrant new tales centered around other beloved characters. Alongside the planned Thundercats adaptation, there is fresh momentum surrounding The Powerpuff Girls franchise. Plans are underway for a brand-new feature film, promising a continuation of their energetic and heroic journey.
The animation ambitions extend even further into newer, exciting projects. Warner Bros. Animation has confirmed development on films including Prehistoria, helmed by the talented Vivienne Medrano (aka VivziePop), promising an engaging look at prehistoric tales. Furthermore, a highly anticipated project titled Bad Fairies is also in development.
