They Follow: It Follows Sequel Is Bringing Back the 1 Person It Couldn’t Lose

The Ghosts of Success: Disasterpeace and Naomi Ackie Join the Next Chapter of They Follow

The dark, pulsating world of horror is getting a fresh dose of dread with the upcoming sequel to It Follows, They Follow. But beyond the familiar faces and chilling premise, the filmmakers have confirmed that some of the most essential creative spirits from the original film are returning to shape this new cinematic experience.

Director David Robert Mitchell has officially announced a major update regarding the soundtrack for the sequel, confirming that the legendary musician and artist Disasterpeace will be composing the score. Mitchell shared his excitement, noting, “I wouldn’t want to do a sequel without him.”

Disasterpeace’s synth-driven sound was instrumental in establishing the haunting, horrifying atmosphere of the original film, drawing comparisons to classic horror masters like John Carpenter. His work perfectly captured the unsettling mood that defined the first installment, and bringing him back promises a score steeped in familiar yet terrifying sonic brilliance for the next chapter.

While the musical legacy is being solidified, the cast of They Follow is also expanding. Alongside star Maika Monroe, the sequel will welcome acclaimed actress Naomi Ackie to the ensemble. Ackie, who is set to appear in the DCU’s Clayface film, brings a compelling new dimension to the narrative alongside Monroe.

The story of They Follow will pick up a decade later, placing the narrative ten years after the events of the original. Production is slated to begin this summer, setting the stage for an epic continuation of one of modern horror cinema’s most iconic stories.
