Ullman, Spruell, Flynn join Alien Earth Season 2 on FX

The cosmic horror and corporate intrigue of the Alien universe finds a fresh, startling evolution on television with the continued journey of Alien: Earth on FX on Hulu. Created by Noah Hawley, the series has already captivated audiences, proving that humanity’s darkest futures are far more compelling than we often imagine.

After an initial run, the series has successfully secured a renewal for a second season, and now the production is diving into yet another layer of sci-fi history. While the first season was filmed in Thailand, the creative team has shifted gears, moving production to Pinewood Studios—the very location where the original Alien saga unfolded—for the upcoming chapter.

But the real excitement lies in the lineup for Season 2. The show is bringing a thrilling new cohort of talent to the table, uniting returning favorites with major newcomers who promise to shake up the established world of Earth’s corporate control.

Joining the returning cast—including Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant—are three powerhouse additions: Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn. This infusion of new energy promises dynamic new conflicts as they navigate the perilous landscape established in the first season.

Adding another layer of creative synergy, Sam Spruell joins Hawley, who previously collaborated with the actor on FX’s critically acclaimed anthology series Fargo. This connection suggests a potentially rich narrative interplay, bringing seasoned storytelling instincts to the sprawling saga of Alien: Earth.

The world of Alien: Earth is a stunning vision set in the year 2120. It predates the events of Ridley Scott’s original film and plunges viewers into a dystopian future where Earth is rigidly controlled by five dominating corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. The series opens with the dramatic arrival of the deep-space research vessel USCSS Maginot, which crash-lands on Earth.

Upon landing, Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler) and her tactical soldiers discover mysteries beyond human comprehension. They encounter unknown life forms and witness a revolutionary era of technology involving cyborgs, synthetics, and hybrids—humanoid beings created by merging artificial bodies with human consciousness. When the Prodigy Corporation’s ambitious experiments collide with the arrival of the Weyland-Yutani spaceship, humanity faces a terrifying new threat.

With this expanding cast and deepening lore, Alien: Earth is poised to deliver an even more intense and visually spectacular exploration of what happens when humanity steps into the shadows of its own creation. Get ready for a second season that promises to be anything but ordinary.
