The casting for James Gunn’s upcoming Man of Tomorrow has been shrouded in anticipation, particularly regarding the role of Adria Arjona. While the exact character remains a closely guarded secret, what is clear is that the training required for the role has been anything but ordinary.

Arjona, an alum of the Andor program, has shared that preparing for this cinematic adventure has demanded an intense physical transformation. She expressed excitement not only about her part but also about the chance to reunite with James Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran, who have previously collaborated with her on projects like The Belko Experiment.

To prepare for her role, Arjona has embarked on a rigorous regimen that has fundamentally changed her physical capabilities. She revealed that she is now working out for two to three hours daily on a demanding diet, fueled by coffee, resulting in muscles she has never experienced before. “I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life,” she shared, adding that she is genuinely excited about the process.

The mystery surrounding her character is fueling online speculation. While some fans are buzzing with theories, the most popular guess points toward Arjona playing Maxima, the morally ambiguous alien queen whose mission is to marry Superman. This fits perfectly with the narrative, especially given that the villain Brainiac will be involved, and the plot will feature numerous extraterrestrial beings, including Green Lanterns.

However, the pressure to populate the DC Universe with its iconic figures has led to other popular theories. Some speculate that Arjona could be stepping into the shoes of a member of the flagship Trinity, perhaps Wonder Woman or Batman. Regardless of the final casting, the introduction of a new, powerful female character into the DC landscape seems like a fitting move.

With Man of Tomorrow slated for release on July 9, 2027, the hype surrounding the project is only intensifying, promising a fascinating blend of intense physical preparation and epic storytelling.
