The family film franchise is getting a nostalgic reboot, with the teaser trailer for Air Bud Returns officially released, setting the stage for a cinematic journey set to hit theaters on January 22nd, 2027.

The story begins in Fernfield, where fourteen-year-old Jacob (Aydin Artis) and his mother relocate to his father’s childhood home, a place ripe with potential for unexpected adventures. While Jacob chases the elusive dream of becoming a basketball star, he finds that true magic often comes in the most unexpected packages.

His quest takes an extraordinary turn when he discovers a forgotten VHS tape labeled Air Bud. This discovery leads to a miraculous meeting: a golden retriever named Buddy, who is just as determined about the game as Jacob is about his future. Together, these two unlikely companions embark on a profound journey of healing and friendship.

Their adventure quickly expands beyond themselves, as they assemble a team of misfits dedicated to chasing a championship. The quest for glory transforms into a mission to unite a basketball squad, culminating in them rising as the new Timberwolves.
