All American Massacre Documentary Halloween release on DragonFlix

For decades, horror aficionados have chased a phantom—the elusive film known as All American Massacre. This is the long-lost cinematic artifact rumored to feature Bill Moseley as Chop Top in a potential sequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Now, the mystery is finally set to get a deep dive, as Dragon Studios and Marketing Macabre have announced an exclusive feature-length investigative drama documentary dedicated entirely to the troubled history of the project.

This documentary promises to peel back the layers of this notorious production, exploring its mysterious disappearance and the complicated circumstances that led to its unfinished status. It will draw on extensive interviews, deep archival research, and recently recovered production materials to tell the full, sprawling story of All American Massacre.

The project is already brimming with treasure for fans. Beyond the main feature, viewers can anticipate a collection of bonus materials that offers a veritable goldmine of behind-the-scenes lore. These extras include All American Massacre Reimagined, the legendary The Lost Tape featuring Miquel Núñez, an official trailer, expanded interviews, a PDF of the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre script, and fascinating related content like Ed Gein: The Real Leatherface and The Lost TV News Footage.

The film’s history is complex. The original concept emerged in the late 1990s, with plans involving William Tony Hooper, son of Tobe Hooper, to direct the project. What started as a short film was reportedly expanded into a project running roughly an hour, which ultimately never saw public release.

The narrative framework involves Chop Top being held in solitary confinement at a Texas psychiatric hospital, where he recounts his memories to a tabloid news crew. The cast for this conceptual version included Greg Herger as Grandpa, Todd Bates as a younger Chop Top and his twin brother the Hitch-Hiker, Stephan Lokotsch as Steven, Danielle Burgio as Nikki, and musician Buckethead as Leatherface.

Interest in this lost film has persisted through years of speculation and the surfacing of fragmented evidence. This quest for truth isn’t new, however; a previous documentary titled In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film had already explored the elusive production and the efforts made to uncover more information.

The new DragonFlix announcement takes a different approach. Rather than promising a completed film, the focus is on historical investigation and legacy. This approach is refreshingly honest, especially considering that Bill Moseley has publicly rejected claims that the studio intended to complete or release the original movie. For now, horror fans can look forward to this illuminating journey into the shadows of cinematic history, premiering on DragonFlix on October 31.
