Dead by Daylight: Terrifier is arriving soon, bringing the darkly comedic terror of Art the Clown into the grim confines of The Entity. Now available in the Playable Test Build on Steam, this update throws a chaotic blend of carnage and slapstick into the world of Survivors.
Art the Clown, the notorious serial killer raised by demonic forces, is ready to deliver a bloody good time. His gameplay isn’t just about chasing; it’s about a twisted performance. With his signature Power, the Bag of Toys allows him to randomly draw weapons from his trash bag—think flails, flamethrowers, acid-filled bottles, and even a bike horn. Each successful hit with a toy builds the weapon’s deadliness, culminating in murderous glee as he executes injured Survivors.
Art’s perks are tailored for maximum chaos. Funny Business provides random effects and a temporary haste buff whenever Art damages a Generator, sometimes acting as a perfect distraction, sometimes as a burst of confetti. Then there is Kill Spree which lets Art end the Trial with a merry massacre, unlocking the ability to eliminate remaining Survivors once they have all reached two Hook States and Generators are complete. Finally, Laughingstock ensures Survivors near completed Generators are left Exhausted and Oblivious to their surroundings.
But Art doesn’t play alone. Survivor Sienna Shaw steps up to the challenge, equipped with her own arsenal of survival tricks. She utilizes Best Gift Ever to drop items for powerful passive abilities. When taking a protection hit, Shared Trauma allows her to recover from the Exhausted status while running, while Valkyrie’s Rage lets her unleash an extra-powerful pallet stun when chased by the Killer, turning the tables on Art.
Adding a fresh layer of unsettling atmosphere is the brand-new map, The Hartshorne Mall. Long requested by the community, this map transforms a once-friendly shopping space into a dark reflection of itself. Littered with haunting storefronts and liminal hallways, The Entity has warped this familiar space, invoking a nostalgic yet deeply unsettling feeling. Keen-eyed players might even spot subtle lore drops hinting at past traumas, especially for beloved characters like Dwight Fairfield, who experienced a traumatic encounter with The Entity while lost in the mall as a child.
