Bass X Machina Steampunk Anime Trailer
Netflix is stirring up the dusty trails of the Old West with a vision that is anything but ordinary. Their latest animated feature, Bass X Machina, is a high-octane fusion of genres, blending the grit of a Steampunk Western with the high drama of an anime series, promising an adventure steeped in mechanical marvels and moral ambiguity.
At the heart of this wild new frontier is a tale of justice, betrayal, and the heavy burden of leadership. The series plunges viewers into a lawless Steampunk West, a landscape where outlaws roam alongside intricate machinery and supernatural threats. Here, a father must navigate a world defined by chaos, striving to protect his family while grappling with the painful realization that every act of justice may come at the cost of the very people he seeks to save.
The story is anchored by the performance of Brian Tyree Henry, who steps into the role of Bass. Henry serves not only as the lead voice actor but also as the executive producer, bringing depth and gravitas to the role of the conflicted bounty hunter. He leads a stellar ensemble cast that brings the dynamic of the Steampunk West to life, including Tati Gabrielle, Currie Graham, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Starletta DuPois, and Janelle Monáe as the compelling character of Glory.
The world of Bass X Machina is unique because it pays homage to a true legend. This animated series draws its inspiration from the real-life story of Bass Reeves, the legendary bounty hunter whose exploits were also immortalized in the live-action series Lawmen: Bass Reeves. The adaptation reimagines these classic themes through a vibrant, imaginative Steampunk lens, transforming the rugged West into a fantastical domain where steam-powered contraptions meet frontier justice.
Created by animation artist and director LeSean Thomas, the series expertly weaves together historical grit with fantastical elements, creating a narrative that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. It takes the familiar themes of the Western and amplifies them, delivering a rich, complex experience for fans of anime and historical drama alike.
With the full official trailer now released, the world of Bass X Machina is set to arrive on Netflix in November, beckoning audiences to explore a Steampunk saga where the lines between right and wrong are perpetually blurred by the steam and the shadows of the frontier.
