The legacy of classic animation is being revived, and this time, it’s landing with a familiar and beloved voice. Disney+ and Disney Television have officially announced the main voice cast for the animated series revival of the iconic cartoon, Darkwing Duck.

The star of this new adventure is none other than Mark Hamill, who will take on the title role of Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck. Hamill, renowned for his work voicing The Joker across countless Batman animated media, brings an instantly recognizable gravitas to the role of the famed superhero.

Hamill brings a storied history of voice acting, having recently appeared in roles such as Skeletor in Masters of the Universe: Revelation and in the Trollhunters franchise, adding depth to the playful world of Darkwing Duck.

Hamill will be joined by an equally compelling ensemble cast of supporting characters. Seth Rogen is set to voice Darkwing’s sidekick, Launchpad McQuack, ensuring plenty of comedic banter on the skies. Adding charm to the family dynamic is Lizzy Caplan, who will portray Drake’s adoptive daughter, Gosalyn Mallard.

The supporting cast is a delightful mix of familiar and new faces, including Lilimar as Duckie, Dan Stevens as Glade McTowers, and a string of vibrant characters like Tiffany Shepos as Rosa, Kathryn Newton as Firecracker, Teo Briones as Timb, Tyler Dean Flores as Pondsy, and a team of officers, including Katie Rich as Officer Shanks and Nat Faxon as Officer Webb.

The creative process for this new streaming adventure involved input from Tad Stones, the original creator of the cartoon, who consulted on the development of the series alongside Disney Television and Point Grey Pictures. Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui are also serving as executive producers, lending significant industry weight to the project.

With the star cast finalized and the creative team in place, fans can look forward to an animated series that honors the past while delivering exciting new stories for the Disney+ audience.
