Bill Kaulitz stars in the Brute 1986 trailer sequel
Prepare for a trip down memory lane and into the brutal landscape of the 1980s, because the trailer for Brute 1986 has dropped, promising a sequel dripping with slasher mayhem. Director Marcel Walz, known for cranking out intense horror like Blood Feast and Blind, is back to explore the twisted world of 80s horror, and this time, he’s bringing the glam metal aesthetic into the carnage.
Brute 1986 takes a nostalgic turn, paying homage to the classic slasher genre while throwing a curveball with a new cast. The film centers on the glam metal band Leather Kobra, who decide to shoot a music video in a remote, abandoned Western town deep in the desert. Naturally, they ignore every warning sign, oblivious to the fact that they’ve stumbled into the territory of the violent Birdy family—a group of misfits who clearly have no intention of welcoming uninvited guests.
When the shoot turns deadly, the band members are forced to ditch their stage personas and fight tooth and nail for survival, plotting elaborate and bloody revenge against those who sought to ruin their adventure.
At the heart of this chaotic narrative is the star power. Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz steps into the spotlight for his feature film debut, adding a new, electric layer to the mayhem. He joins an impressive ensemble cast, including Gigi Gustin, Sarah French, Pancho Moler, Lew Temple, Heather Grace Hancock, and many other familiar faces who bring a distinct, gritty edge to the horror genre.
The creative team has clearly immersed themselves in the spirit of the era. Director Marcel Walz openly admitted that his love for classic slashers—movies like Friday the 13th Part 6, The Burning, and Sleepaway Camp—fueled his vision for this sequel. He managed to capture that vintage horror vibe without simply copying it, translating his deep appreciation for those brutal classics onto the screen.
The film is set to be released by Cinephobia Releasing, though an official release date is still pending. Fans of retro horror and action can keep their eyes peeled for updates on when this explosive follow-up is set to hit theaters.
