The revelation came during an exclusive interview at the Newport Beach Film Festival, where O’Connell discussed the experience of joining the A Quiet Place universe alongside Murphy, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski. O’Connell reflected on the powerful connection he felt with the original film, noting that the cast brought a genuine feeling of family to the story.
“A Quiet Place was, that felt like family. It’s about family, obviously. Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers. There was a real familial feel to that one,” O’Connell shared. He added that the surge in popularity of horror movies is fantastic, noting that audiences are actively seeking out these cinematic experiences.
In the narrative of the franchise, Cillian Murphy’s character, Emmett, was introduced in A Quiet Place Part II. After surviving the alien invasion, Emmett had navigated a path of isolation and grief, initially resisting help from Evelyn Abbott and her children before ultimately risking everything to protect them. The new introduction of a sibling relationship hints at further layers of history and connection within the story.
A Quiet Place Part III continues the journey under the direction and production of John Krasinski, who has successfully steered the franchise through multiple cinematic triumphs.
