Corrin and Lowden in Pride and Prejudice trailer
The world of high-stakes romance is about to get a serious dose of Regency elegance, as Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice.
Set to arrive on the streaming service on December 3rd, this cinematic reimagining promises to transport viewers back to the spirited world of 1813, bringing the iconic story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy to a modern audience with fresh energy.
The casting is already a coup, pairing the roles with some of the most beloved faces in contemporary television. Emma Corrin is set to embody the sharp wit and resilience of Elizabeth Bennet, facing off against Jack Lowden, who will play the enigmatic and intensely magnetic Mr. Darcy. Adding depth to the narrative are the established talents of Olivia Colman and Rufus Sewell, who will bring warmth and complexity to the roles of Mrs. and Mr. Bennet.
The ensemble cast is further rounded out by a vibrant collection of actors who will populate Pemberley and Longbourn. Supporting roles include Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, ensuring a rich tapestry of romantic entanglements and social commentary.
The Bennet family itself is given life through a stellar supporting cast, including Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourg, and the Bennet sisters played by Freya Mavor (Jane), Rhea Norwood (Lydia), Hopey Parish (Mary), and Hollie Avery (Kitty).
Beyond the main pairing, the series features a collection of co-stars, including Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon, adding layers of drama and intrigue to the unfolding story.
The creative vision behind this adaptation is equally compelling. The six-parter aims to deliver a faithful yet modern interpretation of Austen’s original novel. The project is helmed by director Euros Lyn and features a script penned by Dolly Alderton, promising a fresh and engaging cinematic experience.
Executive produced by Emma Corrin, Laura Lankester, Dolly Alderton, Euros Lyn, and Will Johnston and Louise Mutter, the production team is clearly invested in bringing this beloved tale to life with artistic integrity.
