Dakota Johnson reveals the truth about her Taylor Swift team up
The intersection of Hollywood and pop music just got a whole lot more fascinating, thanks to a surprising collaboration between actress Dakota Johnson and global music icon Taylor Swift. Johnson is set to feature in the upcoming music video for the track “Patient Zero”, a project that has already generated buzz and warmth among those following the stars.
A recent 13-second sneak peek confirmed Johnson’s casting, signaling that the pairing is more than just a fleeting moment—it’s a true creative synergy. When asked about the opportunity to work with Swift, Johnson was quick to share her genuine enthusiasm. During a conversation at a London premiere, she emphasized the deep connection she shares with Swift, noting that they have known each other for a considerable amount of time.
“We respect each other’s creative minds, and to be able to work alongside her and support and assist and be a person whom she tells what to do is wonderful,” Johnson shared, highlighting the mutually supportive dynamic of their professional relationship.
The bond between the two stars goes beyond the camera, too. In a recent interview, Johnson revealed that the collaboration was a source of pure enjoyment. She admitted that while she usually advises against working with friends, the experience with Swift was exceptionally positive. “We just had the best time,” she joked, underscoring the effortless chemistry between them.
The song “Patient Zero” is pulled from the deluxe edition of Swift’s 2026 release, “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore”. The single was released on September 25th, and the full music video is slated for release on September 27th at 7:30 p.m. ET during the VMAs.
While the music video takes center stage, Johnson’s other projects are also building momentum. She is starring in the film Verity, which is based on a novel by Colleen Hoover and also features Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett. Verity is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
