Lasorda’s career is a remarkable journey that spans decades. After initially playing for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1945, he served two years in the U.S. military before making his way back to the diamond. He debuted in the major leagues with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954, spending two seasons playing alongside his team.
His journey wasn’t confined to the field. Lasorda moved through various roles, serving as a player, scout, coach, manager, and ambassador across Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Although his playing career concluded after a single season as a pitcher for the Kansas City Athletics, it was the beginning of an even larger, more influential chapter with the Dodgers.
Meanwhile, Robert De Niro is gearing up for another major cinematic endeavor this year with Focker-in-Law. This sequel brings back the familiar cast of Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, and Owen Wilson, alongside new additions. The film, which features Scyler Gisondo and Bernie Feldstein as the children of Greg (Stiller) and Pam (Polo), and Ariana Grande as a “ballbuster” engaged to Henry, is scheduled to hit theaters on November 25.
