Death Stranding Isolations Anime Series Trailer
The world of Death Stranding is about to get a whole lot more personal, as Kojima Productions unveils the teaser trailer and first poster for a new 2D animated series titled Death Stranding Isolations.
This new adaptation takes the sprawling, interconnected universe of the video game franchise and shifts the focus from the journey across America to the internal struggle of isolation. While the games explored the complex physics of connection and reconnection, this animated series delves into the emotional landscape of those who navigate the broken world left behind by the collapse of global unity.
Set within the same universe as the games, Death Stranding Isolations tells a distinct and entirely new narrative, focusing on the deep psychological realities experienced by characters grappling with loneliness on the precipice of humanity’s fate. It’s an exploration of how individuals cope with the immense solitude that exists when the world ends.
The series gathers an original ensemble cast, each character embodying a different facet of this profound isolation. We meet an old man desperately seeking salvation outside of the connections championed by the main protagonist, a fierce female warrior determined to kickstart a world of constant conflict, a boy harboring a deep grudge against Bridges, and a girl who has fully embraced the solitude.
These disparate yet converging fates and hopes strand together as another compelling story from the Death Stranding mythology begins to unfold. The visual style promises a striking contrast, featuring a blonde heroine clad in a high-tech suit amidst desolate craters, accompanied by the striking tagline: “My mom became a crater.”
The production behind this ambitious project boasts a stellar creative team. Takayuki Sano directs the series, while Hideo Kojima serves as executive producer, lending his signature vision to the project. Tow Ubukata penned the series composition and screenplay, and the stunning animation is handled by E&H Production, with character design provided by Ilya Kuvshinov.
Death Stranding Isolations is slated to stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2027, promising fans a deeply emotional and visually rich experience rooted in one of gaming’s most unique settings.
