Dog Stars 4K DVD Digital release dates
The desolate landscape of a broken world is about to become the backdrop for one of cinema’s most compelling survival tales. Ridley Scott’s vision, The Dog Stars—a post-apocalyptic thriller—is heading home, promising high-octane action and deep emotional resonance, starring Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin.
Based on Peter Heller’s acclaimed novel, the film plunges audiences into a brutal future where a devastating pandemic has decimated civilization. Survival is no longer a luxury; it is the daily, grinding struggle for existence. At the heart of this ravaged reality is Hig, portrayed by Elordi, a young pilot who shares an isolated Colorado homestead with his dog, Jasper, and the stoic military survivalist Bangley, played by Brolin. When a mysterious radio transmission pierces the silence, Hig is forced to venture beyond the safety of their compound in a desperate search for the remnants of humanity.
The story is anchored by a talented ensemble cast, featuring additions from Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney, and Benedict Wong, all lending depth and complexity to the struggle for life in this unforgiving new world.
Fans eager to dive into this epic adventure have a clear roadmap for viewing. The film will make its debut on digital platforms on October 27, allowing viewers immediate access to the story. For those who crave the ultimate cinematic experience, The Dog Stars will follow with a release on December 1 in 4K Ultra HD and DVD formats.
Beyond the main narrative, viewers will also gain access to exclusive bonus features that offer a deeper look into the creative process. The home entertainment release includes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, along with seven deleted scenes that offer tantalizing glimpses into the rich history of Scott’s post-apocalyptic universe. These bonus moments, including poignant scenes like Jasper’s Funeral and Hig Mourns, promise to deepen the connection audiences have with this rugged, dramatic world.
Whether you choose to stream the digital release or wait for the physical media, The Dog Stars offers a truly unforgettable cinematic journey. Prepare to witness atmospheric direction, stunning cinematography, and some truly spectacular action sequences as Hig and his companions fight to find meaning in the ruins of what was once civilization.
