Epic Fortnite 2026 Collabs: FNAF, Freddy Krueger, Beetlejuice & The Purge

Get ready to dive into the shadows, because this year, Epic Games is turning the battlefield into a haunted playground. This Thursday marks the official launch of the highly anticipated Fortnitemares event, promising an unforgettable festival of frights where the world’s most beloved horror icons and pop culture legends collide in the battle royale arena.

Forget the standard gameplay; this annual celebration transforms the money-printing battle royale into a festival where frights are the main attraction. Epic has unleashed an incredible lineup of collaborations and Easter eggs, pulling all the seeds out of the Jack-O-Lantern to bring cinematic figures, Something Awful legends, animatronic monsters, and so much more into the game.

The key art for this year’s event was unveiled, immediately setting the stage for a spectacular roster of new skins available for purchase with in-game V-Bucks. Players can now gear up as Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, the iconic presence of Five Nights at Freddy’s characters, the delightfully twisted aesthetic of Beetlejuice, the terror of The Purge, and even some nods to Black Clover.

But the creativity doesn’t stop with the licensed heavy hitters. Epic Games also introduced original, creepy concepts that prove they can conjure up pure nightmare fuel on their own. These original skins range from a doll-like version of Alice in Wonderland to a patchwork doll inspired by boutique fashion, a red-eyed geisha, and a sinister robot blending the aesthetics of Venom and Tron. It’s a masterclass in delivering both licensed juggernauts and truly unsettling original art.

The creative scope of Fortnitemares continues beyond the skins. Epic is busy altering the map itself, introducing new horror-themed locations that promise fresh scares for players to explore and conquer. For those who have clocked hundreds of hours in Fortnite, the anticipation builds around these map changes and the chance to finally add favorite characters—like Freddy Krueger—to their collection.

Mark your calendars! The Fortnitemares 2026 event is set to release on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Prepare your V-Bucks, brace yourselves, and get ready to drop in for the spookiest celebration of the year.
