Ghost Rider movie may have found villain Connor Storrie

The supernatural world of Marvel is gearing up for a fiery collaboration, with whispers emerging that the iconic role of Ghost Rider might be headed to a fresh face. Reports suggest that Connor Storrie is in discussions to potentially team up with Ryan Gosling to bring the mythology of Ghost Rider to the big screen for Marvel Studios.

Gosling is already slated to star as Johnny Blaze in the upcoming film, Ghost Rider, which is set to hit theaters in July 2028. But as cinematic universes expand, the casting decisions are always the most tantalizing part of the process. The possibility of Storrie stepping into the role promises a thrilling evolution of the character.

The production of this new cinematic venture is already buzzing with talent. Shawn Levy, known for directing major tentpoles like Deadpool & Wolverine, will be steering the narrative, while Jonathan Tropper is set to handle the script. This collaboration promises a story rich in both action and deep, complex lore.

To fully appreciate the scope of the project, it helps to remember the character’s roots. In the comics, Johnny Blaze is a stunt motorcycle driver who makes a pact with the devil, bonding with a demon named Zatharos. This transformation turns him into the flaming, skull-headed spirit of vengeance. The character itself was masterfully created by writer Gary Friedrich and artist Mike Ploog.

Ghost Rider has a storied history on screen, with Nicolas Cage bringing Blaze to life in both the original Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance films. More recently, Gabriel Luna took on the role of the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series, though that project ultimately didn’t get the runway it needed.

The villainous landscape of Ghost Rider is equally dark, featuring demonic foes like Mephisto, who played a role in Johnny Blaze’s initial bargain with the devil. This theme of damnation and supernatural conflict remains central to the character’s identity.

Looking ahead, the production is aiming for an epic visual experience, with plans to shoot the film in New York next year. Adding to the cinematic grandeur, Dune Part 3’s Linus Sandgren has been brought on board as the director of photography, promising breathtaking cinematography for the spectacle.

With Marvel boss Kevin Feige at the helm, overseeing the production alongside a team including Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, and Ryan Gosling, the potential for a truly epic and wickedly compelling Ghost Rider story is undeniable.
