GoT Star Reveals if They Were Up for Batman
The lines between fictional worlds often blur, and when massive franchises collide, the resulting speculation can be as entertaining as the story itself. This was the case when a popular actor from Game of Thrones opened up about his early encounters with the world of Batman.
In a recent conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Kit Harington addressed the perennial question of whether he might have been considered for the iconic role of Batman, specifically pointing toward Robert Pattinson.
When asked about this possibility, Harington admitted some uncertainty. He recalled having an early meeting, but the details remain hazy. “I think I met someone early on, but I think it was like, when I heard it was Robert Pattinson, I was like, ‘Yeah, of course. That’s who you should go with,’” Harington shared with a touch of bewildered amusement.
Despite the playful recollection, Harington stressed that he genuinely could not recall specific details about the meeting, noting that he had been involved in many interviews and meetings around that time. “No, I genuinely—I can’t [remember]. I feel like I’m trying to wrap my brain [around it]. There was some meeting in L.A. at some point. You have a lot of meetings about a lot of things,” he explained.
Though the specific link to the Dark Knight’s cape remains a matter of speculation, the story opens up exciting new possibilities for Harington. With the upcoming DC Universe project, the actor has a theoretical shot at taking on the mantle of Batman in another cinematic venture.
James Gunn and Peter Safran recently announced a live-action adaptation of Batman: The Brave and the Bold as part of the DCU. While no casting details have been officially revealed yet, it is understood that Gunn has actors in mind for the role. This new iteration of the vigilante will follow an incarnation of Bruce Wayne and his son, Damian Wayne, who steps into the role of Robin.
As no official casting decision has been announced, Harington remains a viable candidate for this new Batman role, offering fans a potential glimpse into a new era of Gotham City. The door remains open for this talented actor to step into the cowl and explore a new chapter in DC history.
