Twenty-nine years after the iconic debut, the Air Bud franchise has expanded far beyond the original dunk doggo movie. It has evolved into an entire universe filled with doggie movies and the adventures of his puppy Buddies, primarily delivered through video. Now, for the 30th Anniversary, the studio is taking a creative leap by rebooting the story with this new legacy entry, helmed by director Robert Vince.

The narrative promises an emotional journey. A grieving 12-year-old boy stumbles upon his dad’s old VHS tape of Air Bud, setting him on a path to unexpected friendship. In his new town, he finds solace and companionship in a stray golden retriever, embarking on a quest that will test their mettle.

Together, the young boy and his canine companion rally an underdog team, chasing big basketball dreams while learning what it truly means to play with heart.
