Horror Fans Find New Reason to See Acclaimed Movies Again

Horror fans, prepare your popcorn and settle in, because a truly unique way to experience the upcoming film It Ends is coming to theaters nationwide. NEON and TheaterEars are offering a special Director’s Experience, allowing audiences to delve into the creative process and hear directly from the minds behind the movie.

This isn’t just another screening; it’s an invitation to look behind the curtain. For select showings, viewers will have the opportunity to listen to director Alexander Ullom’s commentary alongside the film, offering unparalleled insight into the creative decisions that shaped the cinematic experience.

The special screenings will be available this Friday at select theaters across the country. Using the TheaterEars app on a mobile device, audiences can easily tune in to the filmmakers’ voices, perfectly synced with the unfolding action on the big screen.

Director Ullom shared why this experience was made possible. He noted that since the movie takes place almost entirely inside a car, he spent a year contemplating the dialogue and interactions between the four characters. He explained that capturing the unique atmosphere of a car setting while balancing the demands of a film—especially shooting in a tight twenty-day window—presented a fascinating creative challenge.

“Getting to sit next to an audience while they watch it and tell them what we were actually doing — in a theater, while it’s still in theaters — is not something I thought was possible when we were shooting this,” Ullom stated, highlighting the novelty of the opportunity to share the creative journey with viewers.

Beyond the director, producers Evan Barber and Carrie Carusone will also join the conversation, adding their perspectives on the production and the artistic vision of It Ends.

So, what exactly are we watching? It Ends is a fascinating blend of horror and comedy, centered on a group of friends who embark on a late-night drive for food, only to accidentally find themselves trapped on an endless, two-lane hellscape, surrounded by unimaginable cosmic forces.

The story follows the group as they struggle to escape the terrifying road and creatures that surround them, ultimately confined within their jeep as they desperately seek a way back home. The film stars Mitchell Cole as Tyler, Akira Jackson as Day, Noah Toth as Fisher, and Phinehas Yoon as James.

It Ends was released on August 21, 2026, and has garnered strong critical acclaim, achieving an impressive 89% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic journey that lets you experience the film in a whole new light.
