The original film had set its dystopian stage in 1997, where Manhattan was transformed into a maximum-security prison. The classic story centers on criminal ex-Special Forces soldier Snake Plissken, who is sent in to rescue a President crash-landed on an island, facing a deadly deadline.

While Snyder hasn’t revealed the actor, he has indicated that he has someone in mind, adding a playful hint: “He better look like Snake, or I’ll walk out.” The role deserves an actor with enough presence to fill the iconic boots of the legendary character.
