When you think of high-altitude adventure, experts often picture icy peaks and unforgiving mountains. But sometimes, the most breathtaking climbs happen in the urban landscape, requiring sheer grit and a willingness to defy gravity. That is the spirit of ski mountaineers Jimmy Chin and Jim Morrison, who are proving that the pursuit of adventure knows no boundaries, even when the destination is a concrete skyscraper.

These seasoned adventurers are dedicating themselves to spreading the story of the incredible National Geographic documentary, Everest: The Other Side. To amplify the message of the film, Chin and Morrison decided that the message needed to be delivered on a radically different stage: the streets of Los Angeles.

On Friday evening, the pair undertook an ambitious challenge. They traded the frozen slopes for the vertical challenge of an urban landmark, ascending to the top of a 12-story building on the iconic Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California.

This ascent was more than just a physical feat; it was a deliberate act of performance, a way to bring the scale of epic expeditions down to a familiar, yet utterly unexpected, setting. The climb required immense focus, balance, and a commitment to the challenge, demonstrating a dedication that mirrors the spirit of mountaineering.

After reaching the summit, the challenge did not end there. With the same daring that guides them across treacherous terrain, Jimmy Chin and Jim Morrison successfully repelled down the side, completing their extraordinary journey. Their stunt offered a unique, unexpected lens through which to view the theme of their documentary.
