Johnny Depp’s “Day Drinker” First Trailer
Get ready to set sail for some high-stakes intrigue, because Lionsgate has just unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming action thriller Day Drinker, scheduled to hit theaters on March 26th, 2027.
This cinematic venture promises a thrilling blend of classic romance and gritty criminal action, spearheaded by a star-studded ensemble. The film brings back the captivating chemistry of Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz for what promises to be their fourth on-screen collaboration.
Beyond the romantic tension, the narrative promises something far stranger. The story centers on a private yacht bartender who encounters a mysterious day drinker, quickly finding themselves entangled in a dangerous criminal underbelly where unexpected connections are forged.
The film is helmed by director Marc Webb, known for his unique vision in films like The Amazing Spider-Man and 500 Days of Summer. Webb’s directorial touch suggests that this story will explore the complex, chaotic relationship between its characters with a dash of suspense and a heavy dose of action.
The creative team behind the project is equally impressive. Zach Dean, who also penned the screenplay, brought his knack for high-octane storytelling to the project, having previously written for films like The Tomorrow War and Fast X. Production was handled by Basil Iwanyk, Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean, and Erica Lee.
The visual quality of the film is rooted in real-world locations, with filming taking place in the scenic landscapes of Tenerife and Santa Cruz. This setting adds an exotic layer to the narrative, hinting at a world as rich and unpredictable as the plot itself.
Joining the leads are a compelling group of supporting actors, including Madelyn Cline, Manu Rios, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle, all contributing to the dynamic atmosphere of the story.
With the trailer out, anticipation is building for a film that promises to be a compelling mix of romance, mystery, and relentless action. Mark your calendars for Day Drinker, opening March 26th, 2027.
