Luis Gerardo Méndez and Ben Affleck discuss immigration ‘You Could Be Next’
When casting calls often feel like a lottery, they are rarely the same for everyone. For actor Luis Gerardo Méndez, a recent call from his agents brought about a delightful and completely unexpected surprise that turned into a story of Hollywood serendipity.
His agents informed him that acclaimed actor Ben Affleck was interested in casting him in the upcoming project Animals. Méndez was understandably taken aback, especially given the sheer fame of the Oscar-winning star.
The surprise deepened when Méndez received the actual script. Inside the document, there was a personal touch that highlighted the genuine interest behind the offer. Affleck had included a beautiful note at the end, letting Méndez know exactly how he felt about the potential role.
The message from Affleck was simple yet memorable, conveying a genuine enthusiasm that made the opportunity feel less like a professional transaction and more like a personal invitation. It was a reminder that sometimes, the most exciting opportunities come wrapped in unexpected, heartfelt gestures.
