The Marvel universe is gearing up for some serious chaos, as major franchise reveals dropped this week, promising a fresh wave of action, romance, and undead mayhem.

At a recent New York Comic Con panel, the buzz escalated when Marvel television, animation, comics, and franchise chief Brad Winderbaum unveiled tantalizing glimpses of the upcoming third season of X-Men ’97. The reveal featured fan favorites Deadpool and She-Hulk among the attendees, adding a layer of comedic chaos to the serious mutant storyline.

Winderbaum presented a clip that showcased a glimpse into the new run, including a sweet scene featuring Gambit and Rogue at their wedding. But the action didn’t stop there. The clip also highlighted scenes of pandemonium, where the graffiti “Where are the X-Men?” was being written as the city descended into chaos, blocking mutants and forcing them to seek transit.

Beyond the mutant strife, the series hinted at high-stakes political drama, featuring a conversation between Storm and Professor X discussing a serious conflict with the president of the United States, reminding viewers that even in mutant lands, global tensions are always simmering.

The excitement didn’t end there. Marvel Animation also confirmed significant news for other beloved franchises. Fans of Spider-Man can now look forward to the second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, set to premiere on Disney+ on January 13th, 2027. Artwork teased for the series even features a glimpse of the web-slinger sporting the iconic black Venom variation of his suit.

Meanwhile, the undead threat remains a fixture in the Marvel world. The Marvel Zombies annual specials are back, promising a gruesome return for Halloween 2027 and the following years. Fans can anticipate specials featuring characters like “The Winter Soldier” in 2027, “The Fist of Khonshu” in 2028, and “The Last Guardian” in 2029, ensuring the horror continues to haunt the Disney+ catalogue.
