Miami Vice leads Beyond Fest 2026 lineup

Director Michael Mann is gearing up for a major cinematic event, marking a significant return to his iconic work. He is set to premiere a new 4K cut of his celebrated 2006 crime thriller, Miami Vice: Director’s Final Cut, as part of the movie’s 20th-anniversary celebration at Beyond Fest 2026. The screening will take place at Directors Village in Los Angeles, and Mann himself is scheduled to attend the event.

This upcoming release follows Mann’s recent efforts to revisit and refine his catalog. Earlier this year, he introduced Manhunter: The Final Cut, a new version approved by Mann for the thriller’s 40th anniversary. This restoration included a new 4K scan and updated sound work, offering fans a refreshed look at the classic suspense.

The new Miami Vice project revisits the iconic narrative featuring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx as undercover detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, reimagining the characters from the 1980s television series into a gritty, atmospheric crime thriller. While the exact details of the runtime and specific changes Mann implemented for the new cut are yet to be fully revealed, the anticipation is already building around this directorial return.
