Miles Teller joins Top Gun Maverick in Battlefield 6 crossover

Crossover excitement builds for Battlefield 6 update

The world of intense military gaming is about to get a serious upgrade, thanks to a high-flying collaboration between Electronic Arts and Paramount Games Studio. The next major update for Battlefield 6 is set to introduce thrilling naval warfare, weaving the high-octane action of Top Gun: Maverick directly into the battlefield experience.

This massive crossover isn’t just about spectacle; it promises a profound pairing of skill and intensity. Stars from the movie will be bringing their characters to life within the game, adding a layer of authenticity and excitement that fans have been waiting for. Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman, and Chris Parnell will voice their respective roles as they navigate the chaos of modern naval combat, creating what some are calling “two titans meeting.”

The upcoming season is structured into three intense phases, each delivering new maps, gameplay mechanics, and groundbreaking modes. Phase 1 kicks off with the addition of Battlefield 6’s biggest map yet: Tsuru Reef. This vast expanse features not only incredible land and air battles but also expansive naval aircraft carriers, setting the stage for true multi-domain conflict. Furthermore, this phase introduces the new Dynamic Wave System, a mechanic designed to drastically affect vehicle movement, gunfire, and line of sight, making every engagement dynamic and unpredictable.

Phase 2 dives deep into the cinematic connection, introducing the iconic Wake Island map and bringing in essential aircraft like the F-18/Super Hornet and the legendary F-14 Tomcat. This phase also unlocks two brand new game modes: Carrier Strike, where players compete across land, sea, and air to destroy an enemy carrier, and a challenging Gauntlet mission focused purely on jets within Tsuru Reef.

The final phase, Tidal Strike, rounds out the experience with a “collection event,” rewarding players who successfully complete complex naval-based contracts. These new modes, along with quality-of-life updates like a spectator mode and custom portal lobby, promise an engaging environment for players of all skill levels.

This expanded content is aimed at refreshing the core game while celebrating its massive community. Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, noted that the addition of Naval Warfare, the Top Gun collaboration, and the largest map offer a perfect opportunity for both new and veteran players to dive in. It marks what he called the biggest update yet for the season.

The excitement surrounding this expansion is further fueled by other developments in the franchise. While the gaming content is heating up, attention is also turning toward the cinematic side of things. It was previously revealed that a Battlefield movie is currently in development, with Michael B. Jordan reportedly set to produce and potentially star in the upcoming feature.
