Monster Tots turns horror icons into adorable toddlers

The world of classic horror is getting a surprisingly adorable upgrade. Universal Kids Digital Studio has launched Universal Monster Tots, a brand-new short-form animated series that takes iconic monsters and reimagines them as toddlers learning the most important lessons about friendship, teamwork, sharing, and caring.

Forget lurking shadows and frights; this series trades traditional horror for playful adventures inside a spooky playhouse where four young monsters are learning how to navigate the world together. The cast includes the spirited group of Elle, Frankie, Woof, and Vinnie, who embark on fun and educational journeys.

The core mission of Monster Tots is to use the familiar faces of the Universal Monsters not as sources of terror, but as gateways to teaching children essential childhood values. Through creative problem-solving and cooperative play, the young monsters discover the joys of getting along and looking out for one another.

The charming designs are the result of a creative collaboration, with characters crafted by concept artist Crash McCreery, known for his work on Universal properties. McCreery’s vision has successfully transformed the legendary monsters into colorful, kid-friendly characters perfect for introducing younger viewers to the world of the Universal Monsters.

Monster Tots is positioned as a delightful gateway series, offering parents a safe and fun introduction to classic horror icons without any of the scares. It proves that even the spookiest legends can offer heartwarming lessons about kindness and collaboration.

The series is available now on the Universal Jr. YouTube channel, where fans can catch up on the fun. The first two episodes are already available to watch, and new episodes premiere weekly, keeping the little monsters on the move with new adventures each week.
