Muhammad Ali: The Greatest Action Trailer
Amazon Prime Video is set to deliver a powerful new cinematic experience with the release of the full trailer for The Greatest, the first authorized scripted series dedicated to the life of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
This ambitious project moves beyond the familiar territory of documentaries, promising to offer a deep, character-driven look at the man behind the legendary fights, exploring the pivotal moments and personal struggles that defined his journey. Filmed in Toronto earlier this year, the series aims to illuminate the untold chapters of Ali’s life—the personal narratives and intense experiences that unfolded between the heavyweight bouts.
The story opens in 1960, tracing Ali’s rise from his early victories to his eventual crowning as heavyweight champion in 1964. This span captures the relentless evolution of a man who defied expectations and redefined sports.
The series brings a vibrant cast of talent to the screen, bringing the complex world of Ali into vivid focus. Jaalen Best takes on the role of Muhammad Ali alongside Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier, who portray Ali’s wife, Odessa ‘Bird; Clay. The ensemble also includes Kai Parham as Ali’s brother and fellow boxer Rudy, Amin Joseph as Ali’s formidable rival Sonny Liston, and Michael Ealy as the iconic figure of Malcolm X.
Adding further depth to the production is the involvement of Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, who serves as an executive producer. She is joined by actor, producer, and filmmaker Michael B. Jordan through his Outlier Society banner, which holds a significant deal with Amazon MGM Studios, underscoring the high-level commitment to storytelling.
The production is a testament to the scale of Ali’s impact, weaving together the intensity of his boxing career with the intricate tapestry of his personal life.
Fans will get to experience this epic saga when The Greatest premieres on November 4th. It promises to be a compelling exploration of greatness, resilience, and the human drama that fueled one of history’s most unforgettable figures.
