A new era of time-travel adventure is on the horizon for the youngest viewers. The BBC has unveiled a first look at Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew, a brand new animated series designed to launch a whole new generation into the wondrous world of the Whoniverse.
Created by Blue Zoo Animation Studio, this charming series sets sail with a young Time Lord and his crew—Hannah, Beastie, and Toast-IE—as they embark on thrilling journeys through the fabric of time and space. Their adventures take them aboard the iconic TARDIS, an endlessly fascinating vessel that serves as their gateway to incredible creatures, amazing new worlds, and legendary foes like the Daleks.
The core mission of Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew is not just about escapism; it’s about education wrapped in excitement. The series aims to introduce preschool-aged children, particularly CBeebies viewers, to the endless possibilities of the Whoniverse. It is an action-packed, friendly narrative that champions essential values: the importance of friendship, teamwork, quick thinking, and the joy of embracing the unexpected.
These stories encourage young audiences to explore new ideas and solve problems, weaving classic Doctor Who mythology with modern, preschool-friendly storytelling. It’s an invitation for children to look beyond the horizon and discover the magic hidden in every corner of existence.
The production is currently underway, with Dominic Minns serving as the Series Director, ensuring the narrative maintains the high standards of the franchise while perfectly catering to a younger audience. The series is slated to arrive on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in late 2027 or early 2028, offering viewers a delightful dose of adventure when they are ready for it.
