New Show Explains Why We Hate Jake Paul & Aaron Rodgers

We all have opinions. We all experience the friction, the outrage, and the fascination surrounding the figures that define modern culture. But what happens when we stop asking whether people deserve the hate and start asking how they became the symbols we obsess over?

Vice TV is diving deep into that question with its new anthology docuseries, Everybody Hates. This series promises to pull back the curtain on the polarizing figures dominating the sports world, examining the complex, often contradictory narratives behind the headlines.

Rather than settling for simple judgment, the series flips the script. As the official description suggests, it seeks to explore the journey of these public figures: How did they become the people millions love, millions hate, and almost everyone has an opinion about?

Vice TV president Pete Gaffney notes that the biggest stories in sports are often those we think we already know, but the reality is far more complicated. Everybody Hates steps away from the sensational headlines to analyze how these athletes transformed into cultural symbols, showcasing the storytelling prowess Vice has always championed.

The series kicks off with a raw look at one of the most controversial figures in recent memory: Jake Paul, whose journey includes recent high-profile controversies. The premiere episode sets the stage for an examination of the pressures and public scrutiny placed on modern celebrity.

The lineup promises a fascinating and diverse exploration of fame, conflict, and legacy. After Paul, the series will turn its lens to other monumental figures. Viewers can expect deep dives into the lives of NFL star Aaron Rodgers, exploring his transformation from an underdog into a highly contentious figure in sports. Following him, the series will feature WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who fundamentally changed the landscape of women’s basketball.

The scope expands globally, as the series will next profile NFL star Michael Vick, examining his notorious off-field controversies. The focus then shifts to international icons, delving into the underbelly of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, and finally concluding with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr, whose career was marked by polarizing wins and scandals.

Everybody Hates is a six-episode journey, designed to give viewers a holistic view of the complex forces that shape public perception. The docuseries will debut on Vice TV on October 27 at 9 p.m. ET, with the final episode scheduled for December 1, 2026.
