Odeya Rush joins Long and Apatow in killer bee horror

Odeya Rush has joined the ensemble alongside Justin Long and Iris Apatow in this new venture, directing the charge into the world of killer insects. This collaboration sees Rush playing Maya, while Apatow steps into the role of Jess. The team is joined by Annarah Cymone and Neela Jolene, bringing a vibrant mix of talent to the story.
The premise of Stung is simple yet terrifying: four teenage girls plan an innocent sleepover, but their fun quickly devolves into a deadly trap. They find themselves isolated inside a luxurious Orange County home that has been completely overrun by a massive, relentless swarm of African killer bees.
The situation quickly spirals into a high-stakes survival scenario. The girls must navigate their nightmare, attempting to survive the onslaught while grappling with the primal fear of being trapped, isolated, and relentlessly attacked by something seemingly unstoppable.
The story is helmed by director Colin Minihan, whose vision promises more than just insects; it explores the deep currents of friendship, trust, and sheer survival under the most extreme pressure imaginable. Minihan has previously crafted intense horror experiences, including the alien invasion film Extraterrestrial and the psychological thriller What Keeps You Alive, demonstrating a mastery of creating visceral tension.
Long joins the cast as Derek, the hapless neighbor who seems woefully unprepared to help the girls escape their deadly predicament. It looks like this killer bee invasion is going to make for a truly unforgettable night.
