Parks and Rec meets The Good Place in Poehler’s Dig trailer

Get ready to dust off your trowels and prepare for some serious workplace mayhem, because the comedic titans of television have teamed up to unearth something truly hilarious: Dig!

This highly anticipated new series blends the high-stakes drama of ancient archeology with the pure, unadulterated absurdity of a summer college experience. The creative engine behind this comedic marvel is a legendary duo, Michael Schur, creator of The Good Place and co-creator of Parks and Recreation, alongside Dan Goor. Their combined vision promises a narrative that is both intellectually engaging and utterly ridiculous.

At the heart of the adventure is a team of dedicated archeologists and their equally unbothered crew of summer interns. Their journey takes them to a remote excavation site in Greece, where routine digging turns into a chaotic race for fame, funding, and historical glory.

When their routine unearthing accidentally uncovers a shockingly rare ancient artifact, the team is thrust into an adventure that is far more chaotic than any archaeological dig they’ve ever imagined. The resulting domino effect is guaranteed to lead to endless madcap shenanigans as they navigate the world of academia and unexpected historical treasure.

Leading the charge as the headstrong archeologist trying to keep the eccentric group from completely derailing the project is the incomparable Amy Poehler. She brings her signature wit and warmth to the role of Elise, guiding the team through the bizarre realities of their discovery.

The cast is stacked with comedic royalty and fresh talent. Alongside Poehler, the series features a stellar ensemble including Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza. Rounding out the core group are Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy. Fans will also get plenty of laughs from a gauntlet of guest appearances, including Max Greenfield, Jason Mantzoukas, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Noma Dumezweni, and Dan Bucatinsky.

The tone promises the snappy, heart-filled, and utterly ridiculous humor that fans adore from the worlds of Parks and Rec and The Good Place. Prepare for a television event where the pursuit of historical glory is only the tip of a much larger, hilarious iceberg.

Dig! arrives on Peacock on November 23.
