Poehler and Laurie dig in Archaeologists ‘Dig’ trailer
Get ready to dust off your history books, because a new adventure is about to dig its way into your living room. Peacock has just unveiled the official trailer for Dig, a series that promises to blend the intellectual thrill of archaeology with the chaotic energy of a blockbuster heist.
This isn’t your typical historical drama. Dig is a delightfully wacky blend, combining the comedic timing of creators like Michael Schur and Amy Poehler with the high-stakes suspense of an international conspiracy thriller. The premise is simple yet explosive: four archaeologists working deep within the ancient ruins of Greece stumble upon a secret that threatens to unravel the very fabric of their world.
The adventure kicks off when these dirt-crusted colleagues discover an unusual artifact—a piece of history that absolutely should not exist. This single find immediately throws the team into the deep end, forcing them to confront not just ancient mysteries, but a dangerous, unfolding global plot.
The book from which the series is adapted sets the stage perfectly for this chaotic journey. It explores the intense pressure placed on the team when they realize that the artifact means something far bigger than a simple historical discovery. For the lead archaeologist, already burdened by a relic of his own, the discovery spirals into a desperate race to understand what they are truly digging for, and to topple the man attempting to conceal their history.
To navigate this treacherous landscape, the archaeologists must set aside their academic rivalries and personal messes. They must evolve from colleagues into allies, realizing that only by forging genuine friendships can they uncover the truth hidden beneath the sands.
The cast is stacked with comedic and dramatic firepower, featuring stars including Amy Poehler, Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza, ready to tackle the intellectual puzzles and the high-stakes drama.
Fans can expect a compelling mix of humor, history, and suspense. If you are looking for a compelling watch this fall and winter, Dig delivers an exciting and unforgettable story of discovery, friendship, and the secrets buried deep in the past. The series will stream on Peacock in November.
