Project Hail Mary Directors’ Next Sci-Fi Movie Is Visually Different

Lord and Miller have officially signed on to develop a feature film based on Forrest Brazeal’s novel, Paradox Inc, under the banner of Universal Pictures. This collaboration brings together established cinematic talent with a high-concept narrative ripe for exploration.
At the helm of this project will be the Oscar-winning director Daniel Roher, who will craft the visual and emotional landscape of the story. The screenplay itself is being developed through a joint effort by Roher and Matthew Robinson, a writer known for crafting compelling genre-blending narratives.

Brazeal, the author of the source material, brings a fascinating background to the narrative. He previously navigated the dizzying heights of the AI and crypto booms while holding a position at Google, and he also established the technology marketing firm Freeman & Forrest. His unique perspective grounds the fantastical elements of the story in a world already grappling with technological and philosophical shifts.
The team behind the project is stacked with talent. Alongside Lord and Miller, Lucy Kitada and Aditya Sood will join the production team as producers, working alongside Brazeal in an executive producer role.
The pedigree of the producers is undeniable. Lord and Miller have previously demonstrated their ability to shepherd massive global hits, including their work on Project Hail Mary, which generated $684 million globally for Amazon MGM Studios. Their involvement signals a major cinematic event.
