As Andy prepares to leave for college, the toys are accidentally sent to Sunnyside Daycare, which turns out to be a prison run by a pink bear called Lotso. It wraps up the trilogy.
What works
The prison-break structure is clever and thrilling, the incinerator scene is bleak and moving, and the new characters, such as Mr Pricklepants and Ken, are brilliant. The final scene as Andy says goodbye is a tearjerker.
Where it falters
The middle section leans a little on slapstick, and Lotso is a somewhat obvious villain.
Verdict
A moving, hilarious finale that few trilogies can match.
