What works
The cinematography is as spectacular as you’d expect, and the series puts conservation at the centre, showing both the wonders and the damage. The walrus-cliff sequence is deeply upsetting but powerful.
Where it falters
The message can feel relentlessly bleak, and some of the footage is distressing.
Verdict
Beautiful and urgent, though harder to watch than most of its genre.
