After taking some time away from the genre, the master of cinematic vision Ridley Scott is gearing up for a major return to science fiction with The Dog Stars, which is set to open in theaters on August 28. This upcoming feature marks a significant moment, as it will be the first large-scale sci-fi film directed by Scott since his highly acclaimed work, Alien: Covenant, back in 2017.
The movie brings together an intriguing cast, featuring the talents of Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi, promising a compelling narrative experience that leverages Scott’s signature visual flair. While Scott has spent recent years immersed in grand historical epics, such as Gladiator II and Napoleon, this new venture signals a return to the future of cinematic storytelling.

He will serve as a producer on the second season of Alien: Earth, an exciting series currently in development under creator and writer Noah Hawley.
