A24 Spotlight: Jeremy Saulnier Delivers a High-Stakes Nightmare with “Slayground”
Filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier, known for his intense and atmospheric work on films like Rebel Ridge and Green Room, is back at the helm with another cinematic adrenaline shot. He has unveiled the teaser trailer for his next feature, Slayground, landing the project with the buzz of A24.
The new offering promises to be a gritty, high-stakes chase story, expertly blending the tension of films like The Fugitive with the visceral horror action of a Halloween thriller. The concept is pure cinematic dynamite, promising a race against time and sanity.
The story is set to kick off on the night of October 24th, plunging the audience immediately into chaos with a mass casualty event at a notoriously haunted attraction. The ensuing panic sets the stage for an unforgettable ordeal.
At the center of this maelstrom is Metal Mike Graves, a man who awakens amidst the carnage, surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers. He wakes up with no memory of how he arrived at the scene, immediately thrust into a desperate fight for survival.
As a state-wide manhunt closes in, Graves must race against the clock to uncover the devastating truth behind the massacre—a journey that threatens to lead him straight back into the abyss from which he emerged.
The ensemble cast brings a wealth of talent to the unfolding drama, featuring Cory Michael Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Stanley Simons, Young Mazino, Stephen Root, James Badge Dale, Matty Matheson, Imogen Poots, and Rryla McIntosh.
Slayground is slated to hit cinemas on January 29th, promising audiences a thrilling descent into a world where the chase is just as deadly as the mystery.
