Sleepy Hollow Remake Cast Changes With Off Campus Star
The shadows of the past are about to be reimagined, and the cast for Sony Pictures’ upcoming gothic thriller Hollow has just received a thrilling addition.
Sydney Sweeney is already captivating audiences as Van Tassel in the new adaptation, a role steeped in a supernatural love triangle that promises to blend gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue, and erotic thriller elements into a fresh, modern retelling of the classic tale of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
To bring this dark and seductive vision to life, the production has brought in Belmont Cameli to play the iconic character of Brom Bones. This casting immediately injects a palpable energy into the creative process, pairing Cameli with Sweeney in a way that hints at some truly compelling on-screen chemistry.
The story itself is rooted in a novel reimagining the original narrative from the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel. It’s a deep dive into the psychological landscape of the legend, exploring the complicated desires and hidden truths that lie beneath the surface of the familiar folklore.
Guiding this adaptation is the vision of Lindsey Anderson Beer, who is set to direct and adapt the novel for the screen. Beer’s track record, including his work on the Stephen King adaptation of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, suggests a capacity to handle the intense, atmospheric storytelling required for this project.
The film is backed by a robust production team, including LuckyChap, alongside the banners of Lab Brew and Sweeney’s new Honey Trap banner. This marks a significant venture for Honey Trap, their first feature film produced under this umbrella, demonstrating a growing confidence in their ability to deliver cinematic hits.
Belmont Cameli is bringing a fresh intensity to the role of Brom Bones, following his success in recent high-profile roles. He has built momentum with breakout performances, including his acclaimed work in Amazon’s Off Campus, which drew millions of viewers, and appearances in other popular series like Until Dawn.
The casting decision focuses on adding depth to the central pairing, though the role of Ichabod Crane remains an open invitation for future star power. With Sweeney anchoring the romance and Cameli adding the raw edge, the anticipation for the visual and narrative execution of Hollow is already building to a fever pitch.
