SLJ lands in Texas for ‘Frisco King’ spin-off teaser
The King is Coming: Samuel L. Jackson Takes the Crown in Texas Suburbia
Get ready to welcome a new dynasty to the American landscape. Paramount+ has just dropped a tantalizing teaser for Frisco King, the highly anticipated spin-off series that promises to inject chaos, crime, and classic swagger into the sprawling world of Texas suburbia. This latest crime epic is rooted in the universe of Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed Tulsa King, but it sets the stage for an entirely new kind of empire.
Frisco King throws the spotlight onto Samuel L. Jackson, who returns as the legendary ex-con Russell Lee Washington Jr. Following his escape from Oklahoma, Lee’s ambitions are set to expand, moving from a fugitive to a kingpin operating just beneath the polished veneer of a Texas suburb.
The premise is deliciously simple: what starts as a desperate flight from justice evolves into a masterclass in criminal entrepreneurship. Inspired by the hunt for Dwight in Tulsa, Washington Jr. trades the pursuit of vengeance for the construction of a sprawling criminal empire in Frisco. It’s a narrative where small-time hustles are brutally elevated into big business, guided by cunning and ruthless ambition.
Jackson is not alone in this reign of terror. The cast is stacked with talent, bringing a vibrant mix of characters to the stage. Alongside Jackson, the series features a dynamic ensemble including Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann, all navigating the treacherous waters of power and loyalty.
Adding a layer of epic conflict, the series features a special appearance by Sylvester Stallone, who steps in as the imposing figure of Dwight Manfredi, weaving an intriguing new dynamic into the unfolding story. It’s a gathering of titans ready to redefine what it means to rule a new kingdom.
The promise of Frisco King is that the rules of the game are about to be rewritten. As Russell Lee Washington Jr. recruits ambitious protégés and builds an eccentric network, he discovers that the true hustle lies not just in the streets, but in the very fabric of American suburbia. As one enticing line suggests, Frisco may not know it yet, but its new king has arrived.
Mark your calendars: the series premieres on December 18th with two initial episodes, followed by exciting new episodes every Friday. Prepare for a thrilling ride where criminal genius meets suburban sprawl.
