Star Wars star joins Shrinking for Season 4

The world of television is buzzing with updates for Harrison Ford’s Apple TV series, Shrinking, which has secured a renewal for a fourth season. But this upcoming chapter isn’t just about returning favorites; it’s introducing some seriously unexpected talent, bringing a star from the galaxy far, far away to the ensemble cast.

For Season 4, the series will welcome voice actress Judith Light, who brings her unique experience from the Star Wars universe to the story. Light is set to have a recurring role in Ford’s acclaimed show, though the specifics of her character remain under wraps, adding another layer of intrigue to the narrative.

She joins an already stellar group of returning cast members, including Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. This rich tapestry of talent promises a fresh dynamic for the series.

The creative team, led by creator Bill Lawrence, is hinting at exciting developments for the new season. Lawrence has revealed that the upcoming storyline will involve a significant time jump and an entirely new narrative direction, promising viewers an unexpected twist on the familiar world of Shrinking.

Before diving into the series, it’s worth noting Judith Light’s impressive background. While she may not have appeared on screen in the Star Wars franchise, she provided the voice for the character Gleenu in the Star Wars: Visions – Vol. 3 anthology series. As Gleenu, she portrayed Arluu’s mysterious attendant and bodyguard—a role where her older, kind demeanor masks the fact that she is a former Jedi adept at using a lightsaber.

Light’s vocal talents are far more extensive than just science fiction. Her career is studded with major acting accolades, including two Tony Awards, two Daytime Emmy Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. She has graced the screen in some of the most beloved projects, including Who’s the Boss?, The Menu, Ugly Betty, and Poker Face.

As the series prepares for its next phase, the addition of Light, alongside Karen Gillan and Christian Slater, signals an ambitious move. It’s clear that this new iteration of Shrinking is poised to deliver a story that is as engaging and unpredictable as the universe it draws inspiration from.
