The event was particularly noteworthy for the presence of the DFF’s celebrated figurehead, the two-time Oscar winner, Cate Blanchett. She joined the proceedings alongside the fund’s directors, Shahrbanoo Sadat and Mohammad Rasoulof, for an insightful post-screening Q&A, offering a rare opportunity to discuss the work being supported by the fund.

Five compelling short films were featured, each offering a unique window into diverse cinematic narratives and challenging themes. These works represent the diverse artistic vision nurtured by the Displacement Film Fund, showcasing talent and storytelling from around the world.

Among the selections were several powerful pieces, including Rotation by Maryna Er Gorbach and Sadat’s Super Afghan Gym, among others. The films demonstrated the breadth and depth of the fund’s commitment to pushing boundaries and supporting emerging voices in global filmmaking.
