Ted returns Peacock announces new series date

Seth MacFarlane is a name synonymous with adult animation, having built a massive following with shows like Family Guy and American Dad. But in the early 2010s, MacFarlane took that established comedic genius and applied it to live-action cinema, launching a franchise that blended irreverent humor with a surprisingly charming premise: Ted.

The film quickly captured attention by putting audiences in the shoes of Ted, a talking teddy bear who yearns for life. MacFarlane’s involvement was central to the project, providing the distinct voice for Ted alongside the cast.

The story centers on Ted and his best friend, John Bennett, played by Mark Wahlberg. John Bennett’s defining characteristic is his earnest desire to wish on a star for Ted to come to life, a simple yet potent driver for the ensuing comedic chaos.

The resulting franchise is unapologetically an R-rated comedy. It delights in pushing boundaries, delivering a barrage of foul language and hilariously adult-oriented moments that constantly propel the narrative forward for Ted and John. This blend of genuine heart and raunchy humor made the Ted story a standout in the comedy landscape of the decade.
