This Star Wars scene is the closest to horror
When you think of Star Wars, you picture epic space battles and legendary heroes. The franchise is packed with thrilling moments, but some encounters feel so genuinely terrifying that they seem ripped straight from the pages of a horror film.
The practical monsters faced by the heroes of the original trilogy are certainly frightening. Think about the sheer terror of the Dianoga monster in the trash compactor from A New Hope, the predatory Wampa snow beast that stalks the frigid landscapes in Empire Strikes Back, and the terrifying, behemoth form of the Rancor that looms in Return of the Jedi>.
These creatures, though alien and formidable, are certainly frightening. Yet, if we told you that one of the most chilling moments from the entire saga originates not in live-action cinema but in the world of animation, would you believe us?
